Dr Ian Martin qualified from the University of Adelaide Medical School in 1992. He emigrated to the UK in 1993, and trained on the Imperial College Psychiatric Training Scheme in London from 1995, becoming a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 1998. He worked as a Consultant Psychiatrist in the NHS for more than 10 years, in both General and Old Age Psychiatry.
He commenced independent practice in 2010. He is a Consultant at The Priory Hospital Roehampton and has two Central London outpatient practices and one in St. Margaret's, near Richmond.
In addition to his membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, he is a member of the Royal Society of Medicine and the Medical Protection Society.
In his leisure time he enjoys travel, sport and the visual arts. His 30 years in the UK haven’t dampened his enthusiastic support of the Australian cricket team, whilst locally he admits to being a supporter of Chelsea Football Club.
